VENTURE CREW 169 

 

Dear future Venturers,
All scouts in Troop 169 or any troop with a 1st class rank or higher and who have reached their 14th birthday or have
completed 8th grade are eligible to join. We do require any venture scouts in our crew to still remain active in their troops.

Venturing is an exciting addition to the scouting experience for our older scouts that want to plan, execute, and lead high
adventures in the outdoors. Venture Crews differ from the Troop format – focusing less on merit & rank achievements and
more on testing their leadership skills by planning, executing and leading, fun and successful events. Venturers brainstorm and investigate ideas, plan training, transportation, lodging, activities, and create a budget for each trip all with adult (Advisor) guidance through the process to ensure a safe and enjoyable outing.

Eligibility

  • Scouts need to have 1st class rank or higher
  • Scouts must be 14 years or older or have completed 8th grade
  • Scouts need to have held a leadership position in their Troop
  • Scouts need to be an active member of their Troop, with a minimum troop meeting attendance rate of 80%, and participate in at least 5 troop camping
    trips/summer camps per year

Focus & Theme

Venture Crew 169 will be an outdoors focused group based on leadership development and fellowship through outdoor adventures.
