Ricketts Glen State Park – April 2026

Oct 11, 2026 | Uncategorized

On this camping trip we had the choice to do either a 5 or 10-mile hike at Ricketts Glen State Park.  It was an exciting outdoor adventure filled with beautiful waterfalls, scenic forest trails, and opportunities to spot wildlife (we even caught a crawfish!) as spring begins to bloom.  We took photos of the waterfalls, practiced scout skills, and learned how to skip stones with our friends.  During the hike, we worked on our camping merit badge by preparing and enjoying a trail meal, which gave us a chance to practice outdoor cooking skills, teamwork, and Leave No Trace principles.  If you are planning to go hiking at Ricketts Glen in the spring you should bring plenty of water, snacks, sturdy hiking boots, and rain gear, since the trails may be muddying very slippery.
