Scouting Klondike Derbys are popular winter-themed events inspired by the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1800s. This year is was held on a Saturday in January. It was cold and it was the first year without sleds, which is crazy because the one time they make us use backpacks, there was a foot of snow on the ground! We had to demonstrate scouting skills like teamwork and endurance in cold-weather conditions as patrols. We competed in the following stations: Fire building, First aid, Orienteering, Knot tying, Shelter building, and Axe throwing! The Raging Raptors patrol came in 8th place!
